About Us

Welcome to Agro-geoinformatics Laboratory (AGL), Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, INDIA. The research group deals with digital agriculture by integrating digital technologies such as sensors, data collection systems, and analytic platforms. The lab focuses on translating the data into information and then to practice by involving public-private in connection with farmers. Our ideology is lined with the concept that “We know how to farm crops, now it’s time to learn how to farm the data to make actionable decisions.” We also involve in the development of methodologies and applications with Earth Observation Sensors (EOS) with particular focus on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) polarimetry and Optical sensing technologies. Researchers are utilizing SAR polarimetry for crop inventory mapping, bio-geo physical parameter retrieval over multi-test site experiments.

Research Collaborators

We are dedicated to advancing Digital Agriculture through interdisciplinary collaborations integrating remote sensing, geospatial analytics, and data-driven decision-making. Our research focuses on precision farming, SAR-based cropland monitoring, and AI-driven agricultural insights. We seek partnerships across agronomy, data science, and policy to develop scalable solutions for sustainable farming. By engaging in multi-institutional projects and knowledge-sharing initiatives, we aim to bridge the gap between research and real-world agricultural applications. Collaboration opportunities in digital tools, agri-intelligence, and precision agriculture are welcome to drive impactful innovations for farmers, stakeholders, and policymakers. Let’s connect to explore synergies in digital agricultural research.
