Associate Professor, IIT Guwahati
I am a researcher specialised in geoexploration through the integrated application of remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and geophysical techniques. My research spans a broad spectrum of Earth and planetary science domains, including Martian geology, mineral and hydrocarbon exploration, rock physics, isotope hydrology, and quantitative geomorphology for landscape evolution analysis.
A significant component of my work focuses on geological mapping of the Martian and lunar surfaces, as well as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), particularly in petroleum reservoirs and ultramafic formations. I also undertake near-surface geophysical investigations aimed at subsurface characterization, environmental assessment, and sustainable resource management.
My interdisciplinary research bridges planetary science, hydrology, geomorphology, and energy geoscience, with an emphasis on applying advanced geospatial and geophysical tools to address contemporary challenges related to Earth systems, climate resilience, and sustainable subsurface utilization.
